"All men have a natural and indefeasible right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences; no man can of right be compelled to attend, erect, or support any place of worship against his consent"
- William Penn, Declaration of Rights, 1682

Here in Pennsylvania we welcome settlers from all faiths. Religious tolerance is the law. Religious tolerance allows us to create a stronger government and wealthier society. Other colonies have an official church in which you must attend, we do not. Although only Christians can vote, all of our settlers can take part in social and economic life. Our founder, William Penn, seeks out religious groups suffering in Europe and invites them here. He even sometimes provides them with land. Our most influential religion are the Quakers, however we also have Amish, Catholics, Lutherans, Jews, and Presbyterians.
